Chronic Disease Prevention

Chronic diseases are the leading cause of death in Ontario. CCO’s work in prevention focuses on reducing the occurrence of modifiable risk factors and exposures contributing to the development of chronic diseases.

Together with our partners, we have published reports since 2012, each focusing on actions to prevent chronic disease for a healthier Ontario. We continue to work collaboratively with healthcare organizations and others with an interest in the health system to support the implementation of these recommendations.
